A Perfectly Sweet Autumn Treat recipe

  • Total Time: About 1 hour and 20 minutes
  • Yield: Makes one 9×5-inch loaf 1x

A Slice of Sweet Memories: Apple Fritter Bread

  • 3 small Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and diced (about 2 cups)
  • ½ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup whole milk, room temperature
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

    1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
    2. Mix apples with sugar and cinnamon: In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside to let the flavors meld.
    1. Cream sugar and butter: In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together the granulated sugar and butter until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
    2. Add eggs and vanilla: Incorporate the eggs and vanilla extract into the creamed sugar mixture, then add milk and mix until well combined.
    3. Combine dry ingredients: Gradually mix in the flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  1. Fold in apples: Stir in three-quarters of the apple mixture, reserving some for topping.
  2. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading evenly. Top with the reserved apples. Bake for about 65-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean or with few crumbs.
