- 1 box (15.25 ounces) white cake mix: Creates a fluffy, light top layer.
- Decorator’s buttercream: For a smooth and creamy finish.
Instructions

- Brownie Layer:
- Prepare the brownie batter as directed on the package.
- Evenly divide the batter between the two prepared cake pans.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
- Cake Layer:
- While the brownies bake, prepare the white cake mix according to the package instructions.
- Remove the pans from the oven and carefully pour the white cake batter over the partially baked brownies.
- Return the pans to the oven and continue baking for 16-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with crumbs but no wet batter.
- Cooling and Frosting:
- Allow the cakes to cool completely in the pans.
- Once cool, frost with decorator’s buttercream for a professional touch.
Notes
- Layer Carefully: When adding the cake mix over the brownie layer, do it gently to prevent mixing the batters.
- Check Doneness: Since oven temperatures can vary, start checking the cake at the 16-minute mark.
- Cool Completely: Ensure the cake is completely cool before frosting to avoid melting the buttercream.
