Tuna-Patty Burgers

If you’re after healthy but delicious then these tuna burgers are quick, tasty and perfect for a BBQ; food always tastes better when you make it yourself.



6 12 oz cans tuna in water, drained
2 egg, beaten
1 carrot, scraped and finely grated
14 cup Italian-style seasoned dry bread crumbs
1 green onion, finely sliced
2 tbsp flat-leaf Italian parsley, chopped
1 pinch cayenne pepper
4 tsp olive oil
4 hamburger buns




  1. In a mixing bowl, combine tuna, eggs, carrot, breadcrumbs, onion, parsley and cayenne; shape mixture into four patties.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Saute tuna patties for four to five minutes on each side; turn carefully as they easily fall apart.
  4. Serve on hamburger buns (really nice if toasted) with your choice of condiments; I recommend lettuce leaves and mayonnaise.
