|3 cup all-purpose flour|
|1 tsp baking powder|
|1⁄2 tsp salt|
|1 cup butter, softened|
|1 1⁄2 cup white sugar|
|2 tsp vanilla extract|
- Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt and set aside. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract. Gradually blend in the sifted dry ingredients until well combined. Cover the dough and chill for 2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
- On a clean floured surface, roll out small portions of the chilled dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out shapes using cookie cutters.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges are barely brown. Remove from the cookie sheets to cool on wire racks.
