Four Cheese Sauce

This four cheese sauce is great with gnocchi, fettuccine, or your choice of pasta. Garlic French bread would be a tasty accompaniment.



2 cup heavy whipping cream
12 cup butter
12 cup parmesan cheese, grated
12 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
12 cup provolone cheese, shredded
12 cup romano cheese, grated



  1. Add heavy whipping cream and butter to a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently until the butter melts. Gradually stir in parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, provolone cheese, and romano cheese. Reduce heat to low and continue to stir just until all of the cheese is melted. Serve immediately; sauce will thicken upon standing.
