5 Cup Fruit Loaf

A low fat, simple cake using ingredients usually found in anyone’s cupboard.



  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup sultanas
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 cup milk


  • STEP 1Preheat oven to 160-170C.
  • STEP 2Mix together dry ingredients. Make well in centre and add milk.
  • STEP 3Mix well, and pour into a lined and greased loaf tin.
  • STEP 4Bake 45 minutes to an hour.


This makes a wet mixture. The slower you cook it, the moister it stays.
